Dominik co-founded QED Software in 1999 and since then he has continually guided development of the company’s main Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions.
In the meantime, he was also involved in other commercial initiatives. In 2005, he co-founded Infobright – international company at which he co-designed new Analytical Database Technology based on Rough Sets and Information Granulation. In 2017, he started serving as Chief Scientist at Security On-Demand – US-based company which extends Infobright’s approach in order to empower Cybersecurity Analytics with Approximate Querying. He has also served as a technological expert for several other firms including IINE, OvuFriend, and Toolbox for HR, Pro Duct BBF.
Dominik has always been active at the junction of industry and science. In 2014, he co-created KnowledgePit – scalable online platform for Data Mining Competitions. He acted as President of International Rough Set Society, one of Founding Editors of Springer’s Communications in Computer and Information Science, as well as Conference Chair and Plenary Speaker at 30+ international scientific congresses in Europe, Asia and both Americas. In his academic life, he holds the position of Full Professor at University of Warsaw.
He also worked for the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and several universities in Canada. He is a co-author of 200+ scientific publications and co-inventor in 10+ US patent applications.

Security On-Demand’s need was to increase its ability to detect suspicious network events based on network traffic data. The main goal of the project was to support Security Operations Center employees in ongoing monitoring of customers’ security status.
The solution we proposed is algorithm crowdsourcing. It remains for the client to provide the input data. We used the capabilities of our proprietary KnowledgePit.ml competition platform, on which our team has been successfully organizing similar events for several years.

Sierra Gorda SCM (KGHM), a Chilean open-pit copper and molybdenum mine, requested a mathematical model showing the extent to which air pollution in the mine surroundings is the result of mining activities.
Mathematical modeling services and data analysis regarding the impact of mine operations on the environment allowed us to determine the actual impact of mining in the mine on air pollution in the area. This type of analysis is used to consciously manage the level of extraction, for example in order to increase it without a negative impact on environmental pollution in inhabited areas.
Zoined is the creator of one of the most interesting business intelligence solutions aimed at retail chains. Their platform allows chain owners to quickly view a synthetic view of sales data and convenient analysis down to the level of individual checkout points. The company wanted to enrich the panel and provide its customers with a predictive module to predict sales and demand for products.
