Biomass

Biomass is one of the most common renewable energy resources with considerable growth potential in the coming decade. Biodegradable industrial, agricultural, and municipal wastes and biogases are much more environmentally friendly than fossil fuels. Biomass is used for heating and electricity generation in thermal power plants. Its use is a way to decarbonize critical industries such as steel, cement, lime, chemicals, and aviation fuels. Biomass will also be instrumental in large-scale hydrogen generation and the phased establishment of a hydrogen economy.
